Abstract
Photoelectron signals are calculated dependent on the solid angle of detection and the incidence angle of X-rays. A Monte Carlo algorithm allowed for elastic electron scattering and enabled comparison of the results with those of calculations neglecting elastic scattering. The best agreement between both models is obtained for X-ray incidence normal to the surface and with low values of the solid angle of acceptance.
