Abstract

The integral rate and induction period for synthesis of poly(AN-co-MA-co-AMPS) in NaSCN (ASST) was found to be a function of the acidity of the reaction medium. The effect of the acidity of the reaction medium on the primary structure (concentration of AMPS) of the copolymer and its molecular-weight characteristics was demonstrated. Thiourea dioxide (TDO) affected the kinetics of synthesis and properties of the copolymer was observed when the acidity of the medium changed. A hypothesis was advanced concerning the change in the intensity of the donor-acceptor interactions between the components of the reaction medium on variation of the acidity and concentration of TDO.
