Abstract

Calculations of fast neutron through a liquid oxygen slab are presented, with a view as to their applicability in the design of an oxygen filter to produce a 2.37 MeV monoenergetic neutron beam. It is found that, while an oxygen filter is possible, exceedingly large amounts of oxygen would be required if a large fraction of the transmitted flux is to be in the 2.37 MeV energy region.
