Abstract

The modification of synthetic nanotubes of magnesium hydrosilicate with a chrysotile structure by successive treatment with titanium tetrachloride and water vapors was studied. The effect exerted by temperature of the preliminary anneal within 200–500°C on the modification of a nanotubular matrix was determined by the thermogravimetric and chemical analyses, X-ray diffraction, and by the diffuse reflectance spectroscopy.
