Abstract

Chen Hashimoto Model has been used to evaluate the maximum specific growth rate and kinetic constants, significant parameters in anaerobic digestion of vegetable wastes, at various temperatures. The linear approximation and the limitations of their applicability have been described. The samples of vegetable wastes as collected from local market have been taken in an anaerobic semi batch digester. The ultimate methane yield (B 0 ), maximum specific growth rate (µ m ), and kinetic constant (K) have been estimated using Chen Hasimoto model.
