Abstract
The effect of temperature variations on the spectrometric analysis of a two-component pharmaceutical preparation, ranitidine injection, has been investigated. Assay temperature coefficients of up to 0.8%°C–1 were obtained. A temperature-compensating approach, whereby a two-component solution can be analysed at any (unknown) temperature against reference standard solutions measured at other unknown temperatures, has been developed and validated.
