Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to observe the therapeutical effect of a complex prescription of Tangxinkang on DC rats. The model rats, male Wistar rats, were established with multiple injections of low dose STZ and high calorie diet. Various kinds of examination methods were applied, including Affymetrix Co. US. Rat 2302.0 gene expression profiling chip and cluster analysis, to observe the effect of Tangxinkang on indicators. Then RT-PCR was applied for confirmatory experiment. Alox12 mRNA gene was one of the diabetic cardiomyopathy tissue differential expressions. The Alox12 mRNA genes were up-regulators in the DC model group and down-regulators in the Tangxinkang treatment group. The Alox12 mRNA was associated with diabetic cardiac muscle damage, and Tangxinkang had benign effect on Alox12 gene expression.
