Abstract

For the very first time, ordered mesoporous hydrotalcite like compound containing Mg, Al and Co was prepared through co-condensation and co-condensation-evaporation methods using CTAB as a structure directing agent. The co-condensation and co-condensation-evaporation methods were established at 80 °C for 48 h under alkaline media followed by drying and calcination at 400 °C for 3 h for removing the directing agent from the porous system. Controlling pore width of the material was also studied by applying two method: hydrothelmal treatment and using another template. The results confirmed that the co-condensation-evaporation method was better than the co-condensation one because it could produce high ordered mesoporous channels. The controlling also pointed out that bothe methods could be used for narrowing and reducing the pore width of the material. Structural charactizations of these two materials were analyzed by many techniques including Small Angle X-Ray Diffraction (SAXRD), Wide Angle X-Ray Diffraction (WAXRD), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Brunauer, Emmett and Teller Theory (BET).
