Abstract

The effect of cationic, anionic and non-ionic surfactants (SAS) on the kinetics of polarographic reduction of U(VI) in sulphuric acid solutions of different concentrations have been investigated. Both anionic and non-ionic surfactants cause retardation of the reduction process and render the waves more irreversible. A cationic SAS showed an opposite effect. Evaluation of the kinetic parameters has been made. The effects vary with the acid or SAS concentration.
