Abstract

Objective To study the effect of surface electromyography biofeedback therapy combined with butyphthalide on the recovery of lower extremity function of hemiplegic patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods From September, 2016 to October, 2018, 110 patients with acute cerebral infarction and hemiplegia were selected and divided into a control group and an observation group, 55 cases for each group. The control group were treated with surface electromyography biofeedback therapy, while the observation group with surface electromyography biofeedback therapy and butyphthalide. The motor function score, ADL score, and C-reactive protein level were compared between the two groups. Results After the treatment, The scores of lower limb motor function and daily activity ability were (27.01±2.48) and (79.22±11.26) in the observation group and were (23.21±4.15) and (60.21±9.89) in the control group (both P<0.05); the level of high-sensitive C-reactive protein was lower in the observation group than in the control group [(6.21±3.10) mg/L vs. (9.89±4.88) mg/L, P<0.05]. Conclusion Surface electromyography biofeedback therapy combined with butyphthalide in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction and hemiplegia can effectively improve the lower extremity function and the ability of daily living and reduce the level of hypersensitive C-reactive protein. Key words: Acute cerebral infarction; Surface electromyography biofeedback therapy; Butylphthalide; Lower limb function
