Abstract

This experiment tested the effect of sunglass usage on visual detection efficiency under conditions of glare and no glare. Ss were given the task of determining the presence of a spot on a field of moderate illumination in a dark room and in the same room with the addition of glare produced by two flood lights. Measurements were taken in both conditions with and without the use of sunglasses. The results indicated that in both conditions the use of sunglasses decreased the detection efficiency.
