Abstract

The results of studies on the influence of the substrate condition (stresses, roughness, grain size, texture) on the structure and tribotechnical properties of coatings applied onto compact molybdenum are presented. A difference is demonstrated for the structure of surface layers on cast and sintered molybdenum subjected to deformation associated with the relaxation of mechanical stresses induced in the course of manufacture thereof and with the transformation of grain size in the course of heat treatment.
