Abstract

In the current article, interaction of solitary wave and a submerged breakwater were studied in a meshless, Lagrangian approach. For this purpose, a two dimensional smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) code was developed. Furthermore, an extensive set of simulations are conducted. In the first step, the generated solitary wave was validated. Subsequently, the interaction of solitary wave and submerged breakwater was investigated, thoroughly. Afterwards, effect of the inclination was evaluated on damping ratio of breakwater. The results showed the importance of the length ratio of breakwater on free surface wave deformation.
