Abstract

1. The effect of stress concentrations on the cyclic and static loading resistance of the EP109 and ZhS6U alloys is determined by the type of alloy, the amplitude coefficient and depends only slightly on the endurance. 2. At the selected stress concentration factor, the strength dependence of the cast ZhS6U and deformed EP109 alloys is reversed: The fatigue resistance of the ZhS6U alloy, determined on the specimens with a circular notch, is 5–40% higher (depending on the test base and cycle asymmetry) than that of the EP109 alloy; in the smooth specimens, the fatigue resistance of the ZhS6U alloy is 30–80% lower than that of the EP109 alloy.
