Abstract

Objective: The objective of this study was to find out the effect of elastic band strengthening exercises for lower limb on functional performance among menopause women. Materials and Method: 30 subjects with the age between 45 – 60 years voluntarily participated in this study. 3 drop-outs were in experimental group and 2 in control group. 15 subjects in experimental group received elastic band strengthening exercises for lower limb while 15 subjects in control group were allowed to continue their daily basis exercises during the appointment session. However same protocol was followed for both groups. Result: Both groups were compared using independent t-test and significance effect showed only in systolic blood pressure. For rate of perceived exertion, the comparison done using Mann Whitney U test which showed significant effect (p≤0.05).Conclusion: No significance difference was found in the study on functional performance among menopause women in strengthening exercise for lower limb using elastic band.
