Abstract

Sixty Iranian high school EFL learners between 14 and 16 males participated in this study were randomly divided into two groups. The study aimed to know whether vocabulary strategy training effects on vocabulary learning of Iranian students. The control and experimental group were given writing pre-test containing 40 vocabulary tests. The mean score for both groups was the same. After training of vocabulary learning strategies to experimental group for the period of 2 months, the researcher gave both groups 40 vocabulary multiple choice tests. The control did not receive the strategies of vocabulary training. A ‘t-test’ on the mean scores of both groups indicated a significant difference between the scores of the post-tests.
