Abstract

1. In the initial state, the base metal of the two-layer steel has the highest critical brittleness temperatures, while those of the fusion zone and zone of thermal influence are lower. After aging, the critical brittleness temperatures increase, especially T50 at 20°C. 2. The temperature dependencies of the specific work of crack initiation ai and propagation ap suggest that aging exerts the greatest influence on the specific work of crack initiation along the fusion boundary and on the specific work of crack propagation in the base metal.
