Abstract

Objective To study the effect of stasis expectorant traditional chinese medicine on serum levels of high-sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) in patients with chronic pulmonary heart disease in acute period. Methods Eighty-eight patients with pulmonary heart disease in acute period were randomly divided into two groups, the observation group (44 cases) and the control group (44 cases). The patients in the control group were treated with conventional treatment, while the patients in the observation group were treated with the conventional tretment and stasis expectorant traditional chinese medicine. They were all treated for 14 days.Serum hsCRP and NT-proBNP levels were detected before and after treatment. Results The mean pulmonary arterial pressure(MPAP) decreased obviously after treatment in both groups(P < 0.01).Compared with the control group,MPAP drceased more obviously after treatment in observation group (P < 0.05).Serum hs-CRP and NT-proBNP levels decreased obviously after treatment in both group, and serum hs-CRP and NT-proBNP levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05).Conclusions Stasis expectorant traditional chinese medicine can decrease inflammatory state of patients with pulmonary heart disease in acate period, which can improve the right heart function.
