Abstract
The degradation of hard PVC compounds containing Ba stearate. Cd stearate or their mixtures as thermal stabilizer has been studied. Thermal treatment was carried out at 180 in glass apparatus and in the presence of air. The thermal stabilities ( TS) of compounds have been calculated on the basis of evolved hydrogen chloride determined potentiometrically; the amounts of bound chlorides have been determined by coulombmetric titration. The dependence of TS on the molar ratio of Ba and Cd stearates in mixtures has been established.
