Abstract
Abstract The hybrids nanostructure of gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) decorated on zinc oxide nanowires (ZnO NWs) was developed through sequential hydrothermal process and magnetron sputtering. The ZnO NWs grown on silicon wafer substrate via hydrothermal method at 90 °C using zinc acetate and hexamethylenetramine. Subsequently, the Au NPS were sputtering on to the ZnO NWs surfaces at 5-20 mTorr sputtering pressure. The morphology of the Au NPs grown on ZnO NW arrays was investigated by scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The results indicated that size and distribution of the Au NPs on ZnO NWs strongly depended on the sputtering pressure due to the mean free part and rate of gas phase collisions. The current work will be useful to develop high order hybrid nanostructure for nanosensor devices
