Abstract

We investigate the tolerance potentiality of the prescribed wavelength dependent spot size relations of the recently proposed broadband semiconducting laser diode to withstand transverse misalignment effects in single mode fiber optimal launch optics. We simulate coupling between such a proposed source and the hyperbolic microlens fused fiber by taking lateral offset into consideration. We check the uniformity of coupling efficiency in the context of DWDM and show extreme elegance of our prescription of spot size relations in tolerating lateral offset to recommend the fabrication of such a source.
