Abstract

We consider the effect of spin fluctuations on the electron effective mass in the paramagnetic region just above the ferromagnetic transition of a magnetic lattice. For the spin fluctuations we use a now standard hydrodynamic model with an attendant large temperature dependence in the spin fluctuation spectral density, which increases rapidly as the transition is approached from above. This has significant effects on the self-energy, which could be measured in normal-state tunneling.
