Abstract

Specular reflection interferes with radar received signals when the radar detects low altitude targets. In this paper, we analyze the effect of specular reflection on radar detection. Mathematical expressions of radar detection probability and false alarm probability for various Swerling fluctuating targets in the presence of specular reflection are derived. We present the radar detection performances for Swerling fluctuating targets under various specular reflection coefficients through simulations, and analyze the impact of specular reflection on radar detection performance.
