Abstract
Potato plants were grown in pots of compost containing inoculum ofStreptomyces scabies at several soil moisture contents maintained by capillary watering or by hand watering. Scab incidence was inversely, and tuber yield directly related to soil moisture content. Conditions conductive to high levels of scab infection can conveniently be provided by capillary watering.
