Abstract

Abstract Many investigators have exerted themselves to clarify causes of an injurious effect of soil acidity. Recently J. Vlamis 1) reported that the main cause of the injury is soluble aluminium existing in soil solution. In Japan a large area is occupied by acid soils, and also by allitic soils originated from volcanic ashes, therefore it seems to be natural that there are many areas suffering undoubtedly from the effect of soluble aluminium.
