Abstract

THE selective inhibition of radiostrontium uptake by rats following the administration of doses of sodium alginate has been reported recently1–3. We have performed a similar experiment with a normal healthy adult human male volunteer, in order to see whether sodium alginate was effective in inhibiting uptake of radiostrontium from the human gastro-intestinal tract.
