Abstract

Objective To investigate the relationship between sodium aescinate and serum high sensitity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) in the patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods 100 patients with cerebral farction were divided into two groups randomly. In the treatment group(n=50),the patientnts were given Sodium fj -Aescinate 20mg/d by IV instillation qd.Conventional treatment for patients of both groups was the same except for Sodium p -Aescinate.Patients of the control group were given Danshen Injection,CDPC by IV instillation qd.The course of the treatment in the two groups lasted for 14 days. The neurologic impairment scores were noted down and concentrations of soluble hs-CRP before the treatment and on the 3rd day ,7th day and the 14th d after the treatment .The level of serum hs-CRP was measured by scatter immune turbidity method. Results hs-CRP reached the highest level on the 3rd day and then decreased slowly .The decline in serum level of hs-CRP on the 7th day after the treatment was more striking in patients of the treatment group than that of the control group (P < 0.05).The decline of he neurologic impairment scores on the 14th day after the treatment was more striking in the patients of the treatment group than that of the control group (P < 0.01). Conclusions Sodium p -Aescinate can decrease the density of the serum hs-CRP and the inflammatory reaction.lt meas that Sodium P -Aescinate can play an important roel in protecting brain cells and blood ressel endothelial cells.and decrease the inflammatory redion. Key words: Cerebral infarction; Sodium 3 -Aescinate; C-reactive protein
