Abstract

The features for the kinetics of ageing of thermally hardened wrought aluminum D16 and D1 alloys at negative temperatures are studied. The possibility for suppressing of the decomposition of solid solution after hardening to preserve this state for certain time is revealed. The effect of soaking at negative temperatures on the kinetics of subsequent natural ageing at temperature of 20 °C and the formation of final mechanical properties is studied.
