Abstract

The magnetic aftereffects phenomena in polycrystalline Sn doped yttrium iron garnet (YIG) samples with nominal composition Y/sub 3/Fe/sub 5-x/Sn/sub x/O/sub 12/ (0 /spl les/ x /spl les/ 1) are presented. For this purpose, we have analyzed the time evolution of the initial magnetic permeability after sample demagnetization in the temperature range from 80 to 500 K. We have found that the addition of these ions in the lattice promotes the apparition of new relaxation processes at high temperatures, as well as accommodation processes at low temperatures. The mechanisms responsible for both types of processes have been finally discussed.
