Abstract

A squirrel-cage induction motor produces electromagnetic vibration and noise caused by interaction between many harmonic fluxes in an air gap. However, the vibration of the motor under loaded condition is not clarified enough. First, this paper theoretically describes effect of slot-combination on electromagnetic force wave of a squirrel-cage induction motor under loaded condition. Next, using the experimental data of the vibration, the characteristics of dominant electromagnetic vibration are studied for the various number of poles and the various number of rotor slots.
