Abstract

ABSTRACT SOIL loss (A) is generally accepted as being propor-tional to slope length (A) to some power A = a Am. Presently used values of the exponent are based on data for slopes of 3 percent and higher. This study, using simulated rainfall, produced erosion data from plots 23, 46, 91, and 813 m long on a slope of 0.2 percent. The analysis results in a recommendation of m = 0.15 for slopes less than 0.5 percent.
