Abstract

The effect of slitting grain-oriented electrical core steel on iron loss is investigated by comparing measurements performed by several prominent electrical core steel suppliers with a developed theoretical model. The loss effect was shown to be appreciable for narrow widths (<200 mm) but negligible for large widths (>500 mm).
