Abstract
In this paper, The binders were prepared with different proportions of potassium feldspar, kaolin and quartz. In order to optimized the performance of SiC porous ceramics, the influence of binders with different content of SiO2 on the bending strength, filtration pressure drop and stomatal rate of porous ceramics were explored. The results show that doping of 10wt% SiO2 in the binder can improve the mechanics performances of SiC porous ceramics. Samples prepared by thermal insulation for 90 minutes at 1300°C had the best comprehensive performance when the adhesive contained 10wt% SiO2. At this time, the porosity was 25.52%, the bending strength was 47.15 MPa, and the filtration pressure drop was comparatively low.
