Abstract
Conventional cold pressing-sintering technique was utilized to fabricate NiFe2O4-matrix inert anode for aluminum electrolysis by adding NiFe2O4 spinel nanopowder. The effect of sintering temperature on properties of NiFe2O4-matrix ceramics was investigated especially. The results indicate that the density increases and the porosity decreases with the sintering temperature increasing, due to the higher diffusion coefficient enhanced by higher temperature. The bending strength and fracture toughness reach maximum values of 55.39MPa and 2.53MPa•m1/2 respectively, when the sintering temperature is 1400°C.
