Abstract

Constant strain amplitude and single over-strain low cycle fatigue tests were carried out on Ti-6A1-4V alloy. Surface crack growth behavior and cyclic deformation properties during constant strain amplitude test were studied. The effects of single over-straining on crack growth behavior and cyclic deformation properties were investigated from a viewpoint of changes in the crack opening displacement (COD) and changes in the peak stress amplitudes for the cycles before and after overstrains.
