Effect of Shugan Tiaochong decoction combined with Qingre Anchuang capsule on clinical symptoms and signs as well as hormone levels in patients with acne vulgaris

Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Shugan Tiaochong decoction and Qingre Anchuang capsule in the treatment of acne vulgaris. Methods 72 patients with acne vulgaris treated at our hospital from April, 2017 to July, 2018 were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, 36 patients for each group. The control group were treated with Qingre Anchuang capsule, and the observation group with Qingre Anchuang capsule and Shugan Tiaochong decoction. The improvement of clinical symptoms and signs as well as hormone levels were compared between the two groups. Results After the treatment, the scores of clinical symptoms and signs in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (all P<0.05). The testosterone (T) was lower and the estradiol (E2) was higher after than before the treatment in both groups, and the change ranges in the observation group were larger than those in the control group (both P<0.05). Conclusion Shugan Tiaochong decoction and Qingre Anchuang capsule in the treatment of patients with acne vulgaris can effectively improve their clinical symptoms and signs as well as hormone levels, and is effective.
