Abstract

This paper investigates the effect of shot peened and overload on low cycle fatigue of simulated terminal gear specimen using experimental method. The TC11 specimen is used for two size types of terminal gear. The results indicate that shot peened and overload can both improve the low cycle life of simulated terminal gear specimen, and the shot peened is more efficient than overload. But the research also indicates that there is no obvious difference in low cycle fatigue life between the shot-peened-overload specimen and shot-peened-non-overload specimen.
