Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effects of root canal therapy on cracked teeth of different depth. Methods Sixty patients with cracked teeth were divided into group A(degree I), group B (degree Ⅱ) and group C (degree Ⅲ), with 20 cases in each group. The total effective rate, pain incidence, success rate were compared among the three groups. Results In group A and group B, the total effective rate were 95%, 80%, respectively; the pain incidences were 5%, 10%, respectively; the success rates were both 100%; the above indexes were significantly higher than those in group C (25%, 75%, 60%, respectively), the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions It is very important to classify the patients with cracked teeth before root canal therapy and determine the treatment plan, so that the treatment effect can be effectively improved, which is worthy of clinical application. Key words: Cracked teeth; Different depth; Root canal therapy; Curative effect evaluation
