Abstract

The effect of rolling temperature on deformation behavior and mechanical properties of Mg-8Li-1Al-0.6Y-0.6Ce (LA81-0.6Y-0.6Ce) alloy were studied. As the temperature increases, the grain size of β-Li phase decreases first and then increases. When the temperature is 250 °C, the as-rolled sheets have the optimal mechanical properties with the ultimate tensile strength of 219 MPa and the elongation of 35% due to grain refinement strengthening and dislocations strengthening. With the increase of temperature, the dynamic recrystallization mechanism of α-Mg phases is transformed from continuous dynamic recrystallization (CDRX) to discontinuous dynamic recrystallization (DDRX), while that of β-Li phases is always DDRX without transformation.
