Abstract

Leveling essentially aims to improve the flatness of steel plates but also causes a significant reduction in the magnitude of residual stresses and their equalization. In this study, the results of residual stress measurements by use of a Stresscan 500C device (based on the Barkhausen magnetoelastic noise method) for steel sheets made of S235 and S355 steel without leveling and after roller leveling are presented.
