Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of rehabilitation training on the muscle strength and the activities of daily living(ADL) of the occupational chronic n-hexane poisoning patients. Methods The occupational chronic n-hexane poisoning patientsin Shenzhen Prevention and Treatment Center for Occupational Diseases between January 2008 and December 2014 were included. A total of 43 patients of them between January 2008 and December2010 was routine nursing group, and 42 patients between January 2011 and December 2014 was rehabilitation training group received comprehensive rehabilitation training on the basis of routine nursing. The muscle strength and ADL of two groups were evaluated before treatment and 6 months after treatment. Results There was no significant difference between the two groups before treatment (P>0.05). After 6 months, there was no significant difference in muscle strength of upper limbs between two groups (Z=-0.574, P>0.05). The muscle strength of lower limbs in two groups was statistically significant (Z=-2.341, P<0.05). The score of ADL in two groups was (79.65±23.30) and (88.93±17.93). The difference between two groups was statistically significant (t=-2.053, P<0.05). Conclusions The rehabilitation training can effectively improve the muscle strength and ADL of the occupational chronic n-hexane poisoning patients.
