Abstract

Male and female Wistar rats and CAF1Jax mice were found to show a reduction in weight of thymus and spleen 48 hours following whole-body irradiation of 150 r. Unlike the presence of a tumor tn an animal body, this irradiation dose did not affect uptake of fluorene-2,7-di(suifonamido-2- naphthalene)-S by liver and spleen. Significantly different localization of the S35-labeled compound was found in blood cells and thymus of irradiated as compared to nonirradiated male mice.
