Abstract

Groundnut when planted on marginal or infertile soils, seldom performs well, except where appropriate fertilizer or soil amendment materials are applied. Field trials were conducted at the National Cereals Research Institute, Owot Uta substation near Uyo, to examine the effects of rabbit manure on the growth and yield of groundnut. The experiment consisted of three medium maturing groundnut varieties (Samnut, G-153 and Imata). The three groundnut varieties were treated to five rates of rabbit manure (0, 1.5, 3.0, 4.5 and 6.0(tonnes/ha)) in a 3×5 factorial arrangement. The experiment was replicated three times. Results indicated significant positive effects.
