Abstract

Porous ceramic based on biogenic hydroxyapatite (Osteoapatit keramicheskii®, Ukraine) and pyrogenic silicon dioxide (Aerosil® 200, Germany) was obtained at temperature 600°C. It was determined that the introduction of silicon dioxide in amounts 2 – 5% (by weight in terms of silicon) significantly changes the structure of the ceramic, making it more finely dispersed and porous (48.5%). The strength in compression of Si-modified ceramic equals 11 – 13 MPa and the solubility in physiological solution 0.17 – 0.23 %/day.
