Abstract
Florey and Harding1,2 discovered the hormonal control of Brunner's gland secretion and suggested that secretin is the controlling hormone, but because their work was with an impure preparation the possibility remained that some hormone other than secretin was concerned. The name duocrinin was suggested for this hypothetical second hormone3.
