Abstract
A two dimensional Zinc Oxide nanorod medium model with disorder location and disorder size is set up, and the spectrum and the light field distribution are investigated by means of finite difference time domain method and perfect match layer boundary condition. Four resonant peaks are found in the spectrum; the localization phenomenon is found in the light field distribution at the resonant peak wavelength. The results show that the loss or gain of the medium can not change the resonant peak wavelength but the light field intensity. When the localization strength which depends on the area of the light field localization is contrasted with the threshold of the localized mode, it shows that the area of the light field localization can be considered as the criterion of the strength of the localization.
