Abstract

The aim of this research is to assess the efficacy of guava and cashew leaves as an alternative medicine for the wounds treatment. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD), which is divided into 5 treatments with 4 replicates, K0 as a control using B®, K1 using guava leaves with water solvent, K2 using guava leaves with alcohol solvent, K3 uses cashew leaves with solvent water, K4 using cashew leaves with alcohol solvent. The method used is to squash each treatment K1, K2, K3 and K4 as much as 100mg/200ml, and store it for five days in the refrigerator. The drug paste is obtained by separating the liquid and the deposit, and then drug paste can be applied to the wounds that had been given as long as 2 on the back every morning and afternoon. The variable used is healing time, the number of leukocytes, neutrophils, lymphocytes and the ratio of N/L. The results showed that the healing time has no significant difference (P<0.05) between control and treatment that is in control for 14.00±1.63 days, guava leaves with water solvent 12.25±4.50 days, guava leaves with alcohol solvent 10.50±4.35 days, cashew leaves with water solvent 12.50±1.00 days, and cashew leaves with alcohol solvent 11.00±3.91 days. The result of stress levels also showed no significant difference (P<0.05) between the treatment and control is in control of the N/L of 1.95±0.11, guava leaves in water solvent of 1.98±0.20, guava leaves with alcohol solvent 2.30±0.09, cashew leaves with water solvent 1.84±0.30, and cashew leaves with alcohol solvent 1.95±0.20. Based on this it can be concluded that the guava and cashew leaves either with water or alcohol solvent can be used as a cure for skin wounds.
