Abstract

1. In the series production of parts from ZhF1 alloy powder, it is necessary to bear in mind that a stable shrinkage of parts will only be obtained if iron powders of the same chemical composition (preferably of the high-purity PZh1 grade) are used. 2. To ensure that parts shrink to the same extent in the axial and transverse directions, sintering should be performed at a temperature of at least 1100°C. 3. To obtain stable shrinkage and density, parts should be pressed to a density of 6.7±0.05 /cm3. 4. The atmosphere in which sintering is performed exerts no marked influence upon the shrinkage and density of parts, but at any given density parts sintered in hydrogen exhibit higher magnetic characteristics.
