Abstract

Change in volume or electron concentration strongly affects the antiferromagnetic properties of Cr through change in the gapped area A M of the Fermi surface. The mechanisms are however quite different, with decrease in volume increasing the kinetic energy associated with magnetic ordering and so reducing A M, without significant change in the nesting of the electron and hole surfaces.
