Abstract

(Anesth Analg. 2021;133:731–738. doi: 10.1213/ANE.0000000000005447) Hypothermia is common after neuraxial blockade during cesarean delivery (36% to 85%). Preoperative oral carbohydrate loading has been shown to mitigate this complication. This objective of this study was to assess the impact of preoperative oral carbohydrate loading on body temperature during elective cesarean delivery under combined spinal-epidural anesthesia (CSEA).
